Chart Tools
Overview
Creating charts in Office can be challenging and time-consuming. To ease this process, we offer a suite of charting tools that provide precise control over chart sizes, colors, data labels, and axis formats. Explore the Charts dropdown in the Macabacus ribbon for more details.
Available on the Enterprise Plan, Fast Format lets users easily reformat any chart to your brand-compliant standards with just a single click. To configure your settings for a Fast Format chart, go toMacabacus > Settings > Configure > Excel > Format > Fast Format
. Click the “+” button to configure the settings for a new Chart Format. Fast Format is only fully available for Enterprise-plan customers.
When adding settings for a new chart, you can set all of the formatting options to give your charts the exact look and feel desired. As a starting point, you can also choose to Import an existing Chart’s settings by selecting the Chart and then clicking on the “Import Chart” option in the bottom left of the Fast Format dialogue.
You must set one primary chart as a general Base Chart when configuring Fast Format. You can also optionally configure several other Secondary Charts for specific chart types (e.g., Stacked Column, Clustered Column, Line, Clustered Bar, etc.). This configuration will enable users to format various chart types with just a single click.
To apply the formatting to a chart, a user can select the chart in Excel and then click Fast Format in the Macabacus ribbon. The selected chart will then adopt all of the properties set from the Fast Format settings in one click. Macabacus will first perform a formatting pass using the configured Base Chart properties. Then, if the chart type matches one of your configured Secondary Charts, Macabacus will complete an additional second formatting pass.
If you are part of an organization wanting to deploy this feature, you can have an Administrator set up the proper Fast Format settings and then push those configurations, along with other settings, out to your entire team with Macabacus’ Shared Settings.
